Donation for kids

Aug. 17: P.C. Borooah Educational and Charitable Trust today presented a cheque for Rs 1 lakh to Assam Sishu Kalyan Sadan. President of the trust Lakhimi Bo-rooah handed over the cheque to the founding member of the organisation, Hemo Bharali.

Fixed stops

Location of stoppages on Route 6 (A) from Chandrapur to Forest Gate has been fixed in order to reduce traffic congestion, an official communiqué stated on Wednesday.

Family feud

Nagaon: Birsi Munda, 40, was killed and seven others were injured in a family feud in Salona of Nagaon district on Tuesday night. Villagers said Munda was suspected of practising witchcraft.

Dibrugarh: Five Maoist cadres were arrested by a joint team of security forces comprising Arunachal Pradesh police, Assam police and army personnel from the 26 Maratha Light Infantry in the Namsai subdivision in Lohit district on Wednesday.
