Calcutta: Kenya failed to make their final World Cup match against Zimbabwe memorable for former skipper Steve Tikolo.
The veteran, who came out of retirement to bolster Kenyas chances in the World Cup, bowed out of international cricket, on Sunday. A victory would have lifted his spirits, but the crushing 161-run defeat left the veteran all-rounder disappointed.
It wasnt a very good performance, obviously. We didnt bowl well up front, and we gave away too many runs. We also lost wickets at regular intervals
All in all, it was a pretty disappointing performance.
There have been a few ups and downs, but I have always felt proud representing my country, Tikolo said after the match. For me its the end of the road. I am hoping the younger guys who played in this tournament have learnt something. I believe we have a talented young side.
