What: Risotto Festival.

Where: Afraa, Block G, City Centre, till August 17.

On the menu: On offer are both vegetarian and non-vegetarian items. Begin with a couple of antipasti like Spinach and Sun-Dried Tomato Arancini with Creamy Basil Pesto and Salad of Arborio with Olive Oil, Poached Peppers, Raisins, Almond and Garlic. Move on to the main course with exotic versions of risotto and end your meal with Dried Cherries, Blueberry and Raisin Risotto.

Meal for two: Rs 1,200 (plus taxes).


What: Hilsa festival.

Where: The Bridge, Floatel, 9/10 Kolkata Jetty, Strand Road, till August 25.

On the menu: Take your pick from Anarasher Ilish, Dhoa Paturi, Karamcha Ilish, Ilish Dum Puhkt and more.

What: Ilish festival.

Where: Kewpies, 2 Elgin Lane, till August 24.

On the menu: Choose from traditional preparations like Ilish Bhape, Doi Ilish, Ilish Anarash and Ilish Pulao to innovations like Ilish Boneless Paturi, Smoked Hilsa and Hilsa Crumb Fry.

Meal for two: Rs 1,100 (all inclusive).


What: The Born Free festival, lunch and dinner on Independence Day only.

Where: Mythh, HHI.

On the menu: Dig into Italian, Thai, Oriental or Indian food at this world cuisine buffet. For those born in 1947, the year of freedom, enjoy a straight 62 per cent off! Don’t forget to carry proof of your date of birth!
