IIT death

Midnapore, Nov. 27: P.C. Gupta, whose IIT student son Anshu died yesterday, said the camp the boy was attending should have had a medical team.

Anshu, from Bhopal, collapsed while playing at the National Social Service camp near Kharagpur and died. The IIT said the medical team was not sent to the camp as it was close to the campus. It denied knowing about Anshu’s ailment.

Officer dead

Krishnagar: The Nadia principal agriculture officer was found hanging from the bathroom shower of a hotel here. Rabindranath Kundu, 54, had checked in two days ago. Police said it appeared to be suicide.

Man lynched

Chinsurah: A man was lynched and another severely injured here in Hooghly. The mob suspected them to be thieves.
