VSNL revenue up 85%

VSNL has clocked an 85 per cent rise in its consolidated revenue at Rs 8,857 crore for the year ended March 31. The company’s EBIDTA increased 49 per cent to Rs 1,299 crore from Rs 871 crore. The board recommended a dividend of 45 per cent, or Rs 4.50 per share. “VSNL has transformed its business model from an India-centric, single business company to a global communications solutions company. Our acquisitions have helped create a strong platform to become a global carrier,” company managing director N. Srinath said.


Gontermann-Peipers (India) Ltd recorded a profit before interest, depreciation and taxation of Rs 32.97 crore in the fiscal ended March 31 against Rs 23.74 crore in the previous fiscal, a 38.85 per cent rise. Net turnover grew 20.9 per cent to Rs 147.74 crore from Rs 122.20 crore a year ago. The board has recommended an equity dividend of 10 per cent for 2006-07.


Gokaldas Exports clocked a profit after tax of Rs 70.53 crore for 2006-07 against Rs 60.97 crore in the previous year. The company’s revenues for the year rose 16.5 per cent to Rs 1,044.96 crore from Rs 897.36 crore. Gokaldas has announced a dividend of 40 per cent, or Rs 2 per share.

TCI net

Transport Corporation of India Ltd (TCI) has registered a net profit of Rs 30.15 crore against Rs 19.83 crore a year ago. Net sales/income from operations were Rs 1,089 crore compared with Rs 907 crore in the previous year.

IFGL move

IFGL Refractories Ltd, manufacturer of refractories and operating systems for the steel industry, has set up a step down subsidiary, Tianjin Manocon Aluminous Co Ltd, in Tianjin, China. The unit makes refractory darts used for slag control.

Logitech offer

Logitech has launched an exchange offer on its cordless keyboards and other computer accessories in the city. Under the offer, a customer can exchange an old Logitech keyboard and mouse for Rs 1,295 upwards.


Customers buying the Nokia models – 1110i and 2310 — will receive free Airtel prepaid connection with a validity of 180 days and free talk time on local Airtel calls

Little Bee

Little Bee has introduced different variants of honey in the city. Honey syrups in flavours like rose, banana, strawberry, butter scoth and vanilla are also available. The product is priced between Rs 190 and Rs 300 for a one kilo pack.


Olivia has introduced Hiz Aloe Bleach for men. The herbal product is priced at Rs 100 for a 250gm pack.
