Third eye

First Mukesh Bhatt’s Kalyug and then Harry Baweja’s Teesri Aankh dealt with the hidden camera. Then the spate of MMS scandals (the Riya Sen-Ashmit Patel clips, the Mallika Sherawat video and the Kareena Kapoor-Shahid Kapur MMS) have inspired some Bollywood films. Now a small-time filmmaker seems to be cashing in on the MMS phenomenon. If you happen to be in Mumbai, you will see posters of a film called Mobile Phone plastered all over the city. The poster says that the film is based on the famous Delhi MMS scandal. The producer is perhaps catering to front-benchers in theatres who have nothing else to do during the rains.

Damsel in distress

When filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma decided to shelve his project Time Machine with Shah Rukh Khan, the hero was said to be upset but had nothing to lose. But this can’t be said of Kareena Kapoor. She is hopping mad with Varma for ditching her. The lady quit Harry Baweja’s film Love 2050 to work in Time Machine. For Love 2050, she was given a signing amount of Rs 25 lakh and her fee for the entire project was a whopping Rs 2.5 crore.

She will now have to return the Rs 25 lakh. She cannot even go back to Baweja as Priyanka Chopra has been cast in her role. Clearly, the lady has been left high and dry.
