Governor recalls fond memories

Ranchi, April 8: Jammu and Kashmir Governor Lt Gen(retired) S.K. Sinha flew in here today to inaugurate Colonel's Academy, a school that will be headed by Colonel B.K. Jha, former principal of Sainik School, Tillaiya.

The governor and his wife were received at the airport by the GOC, 23rd Infantry Division, Major General Shankar Ghosh. The couple also attended a function at Raj Bhavan later in the day.

Lt Gen Sinha later recalled his family's emotional bond with the city and added that he had spent a lot of his time in the then summer capital of Bihar. Today's visit, however, is his first after Jharkhand was created. The 'thinking general', and former vice-chief of the army, also recalled his association with educational institutions, especially IIT, Guwahati, inaugurated during his tenure as the governor of Assam.
