Calcutta: After a string of low-key performances, Bangladesh cricket is set for a revamp. While captain Khaled Mahmud is set to be sacked, the team will have a batting and bowling consultants.
Talking to The Telegraph on Tuesday, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Ali Asgarh Lobi said: “Mahmud somehow is not delivering the goods. So, we’ll have a new captain for the forthcoming Zimbabwe tour.”
He informed that it will be either Habibul Bashar or Mohammed Rafique to take over the hot seat.
The BCB official further said that the batting and bowling consultants — both from Australia — will join the team soon and have sessions with the teammembers on the advice of coach Dav Whatmore.
Meanwhile, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is also coming forward towards enhancement of Bangladesh cricket. ACC chief executive Ashraful Haq said ACC coaches and sports psychologists will visit the country soon.
