New Delhi, Oct. 15 (PTI): State-run oil companies today reduced petrol and diesel prices by up to 76 paise in the four metros.
According to officials, the price of petrol in Calcutta has been cut by 73 paise to Rs 34.53 a litre. Diesel prices have been cut by 63 paise to Rs 21.90 a litre.
In the capital, petrol will now cost Rs 31.70 a litre, down from Rs 32.40, and diesel Rs 19.73 a litre, as against the current price of Rs 20.33, official sources said.
In Mumbai, petrol has been priced at Rs 36.66 a litre, less by 76 paise, while the price of diesel, cut by 72 paise, will now cost Rs 25.03 a litre.
Petrol prices in Chennai have been reduced to Rs 34.63 a litre from Rs 35.39 and diesel prices reduced to Rs 22 a litre from Rs 22.67, the officials added.
The revised prices will come into effect from midnight.
