New Delhi, Oct. 13: In a fresh move at reconciliation, dissident leader K. Karunakaran met Sonia Gandhi to apprise her of the state of affairs in the crisis-ridden Congress in Kerala.
Emerging from a 45-minute meeting with the Congress chief, the leader appeared to have toned down his criticism of the high command. He said the doors for discussions with Sonia were always open.
About his demand for change of A.K. Antony’s leadership, Karunakaran said his “group is not adamant but firm” about it. He denied his group had set any deadline.
Karunakaran’s meeting with Sonia came just over a week after his son and state Congress president K. Muraleedharan’s parleys with her.
