Lucknow, Sept. 25 (PTI): The Uttar Pradesh government today suspended three senior IAS officials for their alleged involvement in the irregularities in the Rs 175-crore Taj corridor heritage project at Agra.
Chief secretary A.P. Singh said a two-member committee has been constituted to hold a departmental inquiry against former chief secretary D.S. Bagga, former principal secretary to the chief minister P.L. Punia and former environment secretary V.K. Gupta and submit a report by January 18. Earlier, R.K. Sharma, principal secretary, environment, was suspended by the then chief minister Mayavati.
The chargesheet would be served to the suspended officials by tomorrow, Singh said.
The chief secretary said the two-member committee of Hamendra Kumar, a retired secretary with the Government of India, and V.K. Mittal, chairman of the State Jal Nigam, would conduct a disciplinary inquiry against the four senior IAS officers allegedly found involved in the scam.
