A bus route for pilgrimsí progress
Private buses on route 3C/1 are very convenient for elderly people from north Calcutta to visit the Kalighat temple. A number of senior citizens of Dum Dum, Lake Town, Bangur Avenue and Shyamnagar Road will benefit if such a bus route is introduced till Dakshineswar. B.N. Bose, Dum Dum Park.
Earlier, All India Radio used to air a string of Durga Puja-related programmes, which used to usher in the festive mood. The programmes had a loyal band of listeners, but the authorities discontinued the practice for some unknown reasons. Canít it be revived' Rabindranath Kar, Sankar Ghosh Lane.
