Calcutta, Sept. 4: Wipro Infotech, the software and services division of the $900 million Wipro Ltd, is eyeing the domestic market for growth.
“The Indian market is a critical component for our growth,” said Suresh Vaswani, president of Wipro Infotech and Telecom Service Provider Business, Wipro Technologies. “Last year, 21 per cent of our revenues came from the Indian operations.”
Around 30 per cent revenue is expected from the country within the next two to three years.
In 2002-03, the software solutions business posted Rs 26 crore revenue and grew by 118 per cent against the previous year. The services business grew by 17 per cent in the period under consideration. In the first quarter of the current financial year, the services business grew 25 per cent from Rs 46.8 crore to Rs 58.6 crore.
