Lucknow, Aug. 24 (PTI): The CBI has questioned Uttar Pradesh environment director I.P. Singh and other officials on the funding of the controversial Taj heritage corridor project.
The bureau summoned Singh yesterday and quizzed him for over two hours to ascertain who released Rs 17 crore for the project and about the alleged irregularities, sources said today.
The bureau collected documents pertaining to the project from state pollution control board officials, who were questioned, the sources said. The questioning assumes significance as it follows a Supreme Court directive to the CBI to interrogate “important persons” involved in the controversy.
