Calcutta, August 19: To ease the rush of passengers during the festival season, South-Eastern Railway will run 34 pairs of special trains to Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Puri from September 24 to November 15.
The railway will also augment 10 pairs of mail and express trains, including Gitanjali Express, Yashwantpur Express, Puri Express, Shri Jagannath Express, Dhauli Express, Steel Express, Ispat Express and Ahmedabad Express from September 15 to November 18. Seven pairs of Durga puja special superfast trains will run between Howrah and the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai. They will leave Howrah every Sunday at 9.10 pm and depart from Mumbai every Wednesday at 12.10 am between September 28 and November 12. Eight pairs of trains will run between Howrah and Chennai. They will leave Howrah every Wednesday at 3.25 pm and start from Chennai every Friday at 10.30 am from September 24 to November 14. Eight pairs of trains will be provided between Howrah and Bangalore. They will leave Howrah at 8.05 pm on Thursdays and depart from Bangalore every Saturday at 11.30 pm, from September 25 to November 15. On the return journey, the train will run via Chennai. Eleven pairs of special trains will run between Howrah and Puri.
