Calcutta: Anirban Mukherjee and Amit Kumar Saha, driving their Gypsy, emerged champions in the four-wheeler category of the sixth Servo Kaviguru rally — a 308 km time-speed-distance run from Calcutta to Shantiniketan held Saturday.
The winners bagged the Swapanendranath Tagore Memorial Trophy and a cash award of Rs 25,000.
In the two-wheeler category, Rana Dey and Jaydev Choudhury in their Suzuki Shogun won the first prize, a cash award of Rs 12,500 and the Subodh Dutta Memorial Trophy.
The rally was sponsored, among others, by Servo and The Telegraph.
At the prize distribution ceremony Sunday, Bengal Motor Sports Club, the organisers of the annual event, gave away the Eastern regional championship trophy to Sanjay Arya for his overall performance in the earlier three rallies held over the past one year.
Veteran rallyist Mitil Chakravarty and Bhavesh Dhabaria, still as green, came second in the four-wheeler category.
