New Delhi: Calcutta’s Mohammedan Sporting are favoured to be among the two qualifiers for the 2003-04 National Football League, premier division.
They start their campaign in the final round of the NFL second division on April 24 against State Bank of Travancore (SBT) at the Ambedkar Stadium. The other two participants in this phase to be held in the capital are Air India and Haywards Sporting Club, Goa.
The tournament will be played on a round robin league basis, with the top two teams qualifying for the premier division of the NFL. They will replace the two Bangalore sides Indian Telephone Industries (ITI) and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), both having been relegated.
April 23: Air India vs Haywards Sporting Club, Goa. April 24: Mohd. Sporting vs SBT. April 25: Rest day. April 26: Air India vs SBT. April 27: Mohd. Sporting vs Haywards Sporting Club, Goa. April 28: Rest day. April 29: Mohd. Sporting vs Air India at Ambedkar Stadium. SBT vs Haywards Sporting Club.
