High road too slow in taking off
Construction work on the flyover between Beckbagan and Rabindra Sadan is a major hindrance for traffic. The authorities concerned had promised to finish work by August this year but it seems a far-fetched dream. Recently, a waterpipe on AJC Bose Road had burst, forming puddles and potholes. The stretch should be made navigable before the monsoon sets in.
Several people in Salt Lake garage their cars on the pavements adjacent to their houses. Quite a few have fenced portions of the footpath and created small gardens. The civic authorities must check this.
