March 16 at Sisir Mancha; 6 pm: Sir Subodh Sarkar will speak on Winkle Twinkle, to be followed by the staging of the Ekush Shatak production, Sharodiya Shajahan, directed by Shyamal Chakraborty. March 16 at Girish Mancha; 6.30 pm: Nabamayukh will stage Bhadreswarir Galpo. Directioin: Rishi Mukherjee.


Till March 22 at Bijon Theatre; 6.30 pm: To mark the completion of its 30 years, Sayak organises a full-length drama competition. Featuring Shalya Parbo by Barasat Anushilanee Kendra on 15th, Dana by Sanskritik on 16th, Cornel-ke Keu Chithi Lekhe Na by Gobardanga Shilpayan on 17th, Nityapuran by Nairik on 19th, Swaad by Ritwik on 20th, Ushnabhumi by Suhrid on 21st, and Nagar Kotyal by Bengali Association Bhopal on 22nd.


March 16 at CIMA Gallery; 6 pm: Bhakti — a musical performance by Sarmila Bose. March 16 at the Aldeen Lawns, Sangeet Research Academy, Tollygunge; 6 pm: Chalo Re Mil Dekho Holi Khelat Shyam — Featuring Holi dhrupad and dhamars by Falguni Mitra and ITC SRA scholars, Sitar by Supratik Sengupta, Holi and seasonal bandishes by Abdul Rashid Khan, and traditional Holi and Basant Ritu compositions by Shubha Mudgal. March 16 at Birla Academy auditorium; 6 pm: Swarnanalini hosts a musical evening featuring solo Rabindrasangeet recital by Prabuddha Raha followed by a music-dance recital based on Tagore’s songs by members of Swarnanalini.

March 15 at G.D. Birla Sabhagar; 6.30 pm: The Oral School for Deaf Children presents Ramayana. Direction and choreography: Sharmila Mukherjee. March 16 at Swabhumi; 6 pm: Calcutta Nrittya Sangeet Kala Kunj ushers in Holi with a dance-drama, Krishna Raas Leela. Also, a special rendition of folk songs on Holi.


Till March 20 at Chitrakoot Art Gallery; 4 pm - 8 pm: Legacy — Old manuscripts, photographs and curios from the collection of Alok Mitra, linear descendent of Raja Mahendra Narayan. March 15 at Ramakrishna Mission Saradapitha, Belur Math; 6 pm: Swami Ramananda will speak on Sri Sarada Devi. March 15 at Ramakrishna Vedanta Math; 7 pm: Swami Paramatmananda will speak onYuge Yuge Jahader Agomon. March 16 at G.D. Birla Sabhagar; 11 am: Professor P. Lal reads of Ravana abducting Sita and the rakshasi Trijata’s attempt to cnsole her, in the 171st weekly session of his complete English transcreation of Vyasa’s Mahabharata.


March 15 at The Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Vivekananda Hall; 5.30 pm: To celebrate the birth anniversary of Sri Ramakrishna, a symposium (in English, Bengali, Hindi and Sanskrit) on Life and Teachings of Sri Ramakrishna will be held. Participants include: Swami Rasajnananda, Swami Puranananda, Swami Balabhadrananda and SwamiTattwavidananda. The programme will begin with an opening song by Swami Balabhadrananda followed by Swami Prabhananda’s welcome address.
