Linares: Vladimir Kramnik maintained his position atop the table with 5.5 points and Viswanathan Anand slipped to fourth place after a bye in Round X of the Linares Super Grandmasters chess meet Wednesday.
Anand has 4.5 points and he plays Kramnik in the next round. Kramnik was held by Francisco Vallejo Pons of Spain in 13 moves.
Hungarian Peter Leko fought to hold Garri Kasparov of Russia. He trails Kramnik by half-a-point with an extra game in hand. Kasparov also has five points but has one game less. (PTI)
