Port Elizabeth: The New Zealand cricketers still do not know whether their World Cup match against Kenya will go ahead in Nairobi as planned but say they are not bothered by the uncertainty.
The Black Caps are planning to forfeit their Group B game on February 21 because of security concerns, with the players quite happy to abide by the New Zealand board’s final decision, even if it costs them a place in the Super Six.
“It’s been a purely governing body situation that has the confidence of the players,” captain Stephen Fleming said Wednesday.
The NZC has said his players will not travel to Nairobi but hopes the ICC will consider switching the game to South Africa. A final decision has not yet been made. (Reuters)
