Art workshop

February 15 at Hyatt Regency: Hyatt Regency Calcutta in association with Shastha Indriyo is organising a day-long art workshop to raise funds for a charitable cause. The participating artists include Prakash Karmakar, Bijan Choudhury, Robin Mondal, Tapan Ghosh and Tapan Mitra.The art works will later be auctioned to raise funds for Usha Rani Chakraborty, wife of late Tulsi Chakraborty, renowned actor of yesteryears.

Till February 14 at Max Mueller Bhavan 3 pm - 8 pm: My Voice Against Violence as a Woman — an exhibition of recent art works of Eleena Banik. Till February 16 at Asutosh Birth Centenary Hall, Indian Museum: An exhibition of Mughal court paintings. Till February 25 (except Sundays) at Domus Art Gallery, S.R 7B (Ground floor), Neelambar, 28/B Shakespeare Sarani; 11 am - 7 pm: Expressions 2K3 — an exhibition of paintings by six artists of Bengal. Dash, Banishree Falisse, Nabanita Javed, Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta, Sumitra Kejriwal, Bratati Mukherjee and Dhiraj Chowdhury.

February 16 at Gyan Manch; 6 pm: The ninth annual programme of Anirban Memorial Concert features a tabla lahara duet by Subrata Bhattacharya and Amar Seth; vocal recital by Subhashish Mukhopadhyay, with Mihir Kundu (tabla) and Anirban Chakraborty (harmonium); and hansaveena recital by Barun Kumar Pal, with Subhajyoti Guha (tabla).

February 14 at Ffort Radisson: Romanov Masquerade Ball with unlimited music by DJ Akash and foot-tapping numbers by Shiva, food stalls and lucky draw. February 14 at the Waterside Cafe, Hyatt Regency; A special day for couples for lunch, dinner and other times of the day and at Bakery and Flower shop. February 14 at Trincas: Jam session (2 pm - 7 pm) with live band and music, special lunch (12 noon - 4 pm), World Cup cricket on giant screen, and prizes and free gifts. February 14 at Grain of Salt; 8 pm: Elton John Revisited — A musical performance by Rila O’Brien, Ryan Shah, Anindya and Chandramouli.


February 9 onwards at The Bar, Hyatt Regency; 12 noon to midnight: Special screenings of the World Cup cricket. Special menu, contests and games and prizes. Till February 23 at The Circle: Live screening of World Cup cricket matches at Courtyard and 100 Pipers Lounge.

fashion show

February 13 at Tollygunj Club; 8.15 pm: A fashion show featuring the works of Ritu Kumar. Well-known models including Nikita Anand (Miss India Universe), Ami Vashi (Miss India World) and Swetha Vijay (Miss India Earth) will walk the ramp with 14 super models.


Till February 17 at Swabhumi: Swabhumi, in asociation with Government of Chattisgarh, is organising a Chattisgarh Festival, showcasing textiles, dress material, tribal jewellery and handicraft items. Also, performance by the famous Pandavani group and the Nacha dance. February 15 - 17 at Swabhumi; 12 noon - 8 pm: Colours of India — a meeting ground for the culture, craft and cuisine of the country.


Till February 18 at Academy of Fine Arts, Central & South galleries: Ganga Teere Tilottama — an exhibition of photographs by students of Photographic Technique School.
