Hyderabad, Feb. 1 (PTI): Top seed Chanda Rubin of the US has pulled out of the WTA Indian Open which gets underway Monday.
Following Rubinís pullout, Clarisa Fernandez of Argentina will be the top seed in the $14,000 meet to be held at the newly constructed tennis complex at Lal Bahadur Stadium here.
According to tournament director Krishna Bhupathi, Rubin has conveyed her inability to participate as she suffered an injury during the semi-final of the Japan Open.
The other players who have opted out include Korean Yoon Jeong Cho,German Jana Kandarr and Italian Maria Elena Camerine. The new entrants are Akiko Moringami (Japan) and Tzipora Obzilar of Israel.
