Margao: JCT struck once in each half to pip Churchill Brothers 2-0 in a National Football League match at the Nehru Stadium Tuesday.
Harvinder Singh and Jo Paul Ancheri scored for the winners.
JCT are now on 11 points from ten games while Churchill stay on 14 points from as many matches.
JCT gave a determined display and with the return of I.M Vijayan, the visitors looked potent in the attacking third. Also, new Ghanaian recruit Salisu Mohammed combined well with Ancheri in the midfield.
Relying mostly on counter attacks, JCT went into the lead in the 24th minute when a Jaswinder cross from the right was nodded home by Harvinder after defender Pio Rodrigues failed to clear.
JCT increased the lead in the 68th minute when Ancheri beat keeper Edward Ansah with a firm header on the far post off a free kick from substitute Ram Pal.
Churchill had the better of exchanges but they faltered at crucial junctures.
