New Delhi, Jan. 23: Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh was quizzed today by the CBI in connection with a bribery case involving Flex Industries and a customs chief, reports our special correspondent.
In November 2001, Someshwar Mishra, who was the chief commissioner of excise and customs in Delhi, was caught in his office accepting a bribe of Rs 5 lakh from an employee of Flex Industries.
Singh was on the Flex Industries board but has since resigned. He told a news channel that a CBI team had come to his residence and questioned him about his association with Flex Industries. “I told them that I have resigned from the board of directors,” he said.
After Mishra was arrested, Flex Industries owner Ashok Chaturvedi was also held and another Rs 5 lakh found in his car in the customs office complex.
