New Delhi, Jan. 22: HCL Infosystems today posted a massive fall of 81 per cent in its net profit for the quarter ended December 31, 2002, to Rs 2.83 crore.
Net sales during the quarter, however, increased to Rs 597.43 crore against Rs 271.85 crore in the same period a year ago, a company release said here.
For the six-month period ended December, the company’s net profit fell by 48 per cent to Rs 14 crore in December 2002 from Rs 27 crore in December 2002.
LG Electronics India, a consumer electronics and home appliances company, has recorded sales of Rs 3,315 crore, achieving a growth of 50 per cent in its sales from 2001. LG is targeting sales of Rs 4,800 crore in the current year. Its electronics business grew by almost 66 per cent, while home appliance business grew by 43 per cent and IT segment grew by 20 per cent in 2002.
LG sold over 11.2 lakh colour televisions, achieving a growth of 72 per cent over its sales of 6.5 lakh units in 2001. In the frost-free refrigerator category, the company achieved a growth of 102 per cent.
