Calcutta, Jan. 18: A 21-member IFA women’s soccer team left station for Dhaka on Saturday to play three “promotional” exhibition matches in Bangladesh.
Team technical director Kuntala Ghosh Dastidar said there will be three “matches”, versus a makeshift Bangladesh Football Federation team that could also include a number of IFA players.
The first match is in Jessore Sunday, followed by matches in Dhaka (January 21) and Netrakona (January 23).
It’s to be seen whether the women can avenge the defeat handed to the Indian men’s team in SAFF Cup semi-final on Saturday.
