Patna, Jan. 16: Paramilitary forces staged a flag march today in Mungerís Purabi Sarai area, about 200 km from here, after tension spread following the death of three persons, including a minority community leader.
The district administration has imposed prohibitory orders in the area. Shoot-at-sight orders have also been issued after armed miscreants went on a rampage in Purabi Sarai around 11 am. The miscreants were protesting the killing of a 55-year-old minority community leader last night when he resisted robbers while on his way home. The miscreants opened fire indiscriminately at pedestrians, killing two leaders of a rival community.
They burnt houses and stoned vehicles, according to police sources.
Police rushed to the spot and patrolled the area to prevent the situation from getting out of hand. Twenty people have been arrested so far in raids conducted by police.
Senior police officers of the district and district magistrate Gautam Goswami are camping in the area. Armed police personnel regulated the movement of people and vehicles, according to sources.
