Hughes Escorts, Data Access team up

New Delhi, Jan. 16: Hughes Escorts Communications, India’s leading satellite-based communications service provider and Data Access (India), the private international long distance carrier, today joined hands to offer broadband managed network services.

The companies will target call centres, corporate houses and newspaper groups that make international calls and send and receive data. The arrangement will help the companies target the estimated Rs 600-crore market for end-to-end enterprise network management solutions in India.

As part of this tie-up, the companies will leverage each other’s infrastructure — which is complimentary in nature — and offer to Indian consumers a complete range of converged point-to-point and point-to-multipoint voice, data and video services in India and abroad.

Hughes Escorts will market Data Access’ complete basket of international carrier services together with its own basket of domestic V-SAT services and high-speed internet services to its existing base of over 250 leading enterprise customers in India as well as their overseas partners spread across the globe.

“With this alliance, Hughes Escorts will re-position itself as an end-to-end network integrator, providing enterprises with satellite as well as terrestrial broadband connectivity,” said Partho Banerjee, president and CEO of Hughes Escorts.
