Software to help concurrent designing

New Delhi, Jan. 8: The Calcutta-based Consulting Engineering Services (India) Pvt Ltd and California-based Research Engineers Pvt Ltd have joined hands to float a special purpose vehicle (SPV) to offer a unique software, ‘e Review’. This software will enable between two and 200 people anywhere in the world to work simultaneously on a single drawing to design a car or a building.

Research Engineers is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nasdaq-listed company Netguru Incorporated and is known for software development aimed at vertical industries like finance, education, insurance, distribution, retail and healthcare.

The SPV — called RCODE that will become a registered company in the US and India — will also explore opportunities to pick up a stake in companies like Engineers India Ltd as and when the government decides to divest.

According to Jyoti Chatterjee, corporate president of Research Engineers Services, India: “It is only a strategic tie-up and we will soon register it as a company. Our initial aim is to promote this software that has been developed with the experience of CES and our IT strength and to offer services based on this product. We will certainly be open to infusion of public funding but no decision has been taken yet.”

“We will explore the opportunities and participate in any such offers from the government to give our customers a complete package,” he added.
