Calcutta: The Scientific Sports Academy, a Naihati-based composite facility that has developed an academy, is going for the bigger audience.
The NGO has on its rolls about 350 ‘students’ who receive training in various sports like cricket, football, athletics, yoga.
Apart from that, they also receie free medical help and sports medicine training.
At a press briefing Friday, Dipesh Bhattacharya said his organisation now wants to work in tandem with the SAI, Eastern Centre, situated in Salt Lake.
That will be the second foray into the city for this non government-aided body.
Earlier, two of their wards, Ujjal Karmakar and Biswajit Barman had made it to the Mohammedan Sporting team to play in the Cricket Association oif Bengal-conducted second division league.
Bhattacharya has also released a book on sports medicine.
