Karachi: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Tauqir Zia said hosting a triangular series with Sri Lanka and England was one of the main alternatives being pursued by the Board in case the Indians did not tour Pakistan in April-May next year.
“Our cricket operations manager Zakir Khan has been speaking to the Sri Lankan board and ECB (England Cricket Board) regarding their availability after the World Cup,” he added.
India are due to tour Pakistan to play three Tests and three one-dayers from April 18 under the future tours programme of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
But they have yet to confirm the tour as their government has put on ice any cricket relations with Pakistan since May 2000.
Tauqir said he had held a teleconference with the Indian board and ICC officials and asked them to set a deadline for confirming the tour.
