NIIT buys German IT firm

New Delhi, Nov. 14: NIIT has acquired German company AD Solutions AG for $ 3 million, its first acquisition in Europe and the fourth in the current fiscal. NIIT will retain all 75 people currently employed by AD Solutions. The company founded in 2000 through the managementís buy-out of a division of CGI Informatik GmbH, an IBM subsidiary, specialises in developing custom solutions and providing development outsourcing services.

Hind Copper

New Delhi, Nov. 14: In a bid to enthuse bidders to buy out government equity in Hindustan Copper Ltd, the disinvestment department is expected to seek a fresh restructuring package to the tune of Rs 550 crore for the copper major.

Shell plan

New Delhi, Nov. 14: The government has rejected a proposal by Shell India seeking waiver of the mandatory divestment clause of 26 per cent in favour of Indian investors, saying it was against the policy to delete entry level conditions.

Bill at Satyam

Hyderabad, Nov. 14: Microsoft chairman Bill Gates today said the Indian potential is yet to be fully exploited in the telecom and e-governance sectors, while addressing the executive meeting of Nasscom at the Satyam Technology Centre at Bahadurpally.

UTI sales

New Delhi, Nov. 14: Unit Trust of India (UTI) has mopped up Rs 3,020 crore from sale of its schemes in just over four months, which is more than Rs 2,609 crore mobilised in the last financial year ended June 2002.
