October 9 at Vidya Mandir auditorium; 9.30 am onwards: The finals of the Maggi Inter-School Quiz Competition will feature 30 top-scoring schools of Calcutta vying for top honours. Quizmaster: Gaurav Gupta.


October 10 at Gyan Manch; 5.45 pm: In continuation of the centenary celebrations of Sree Thakur Satyananda, Sree Satyananda Mahapeeth presents a Kathak dance recital by Jayashree Umesh Moghe on the poems of Australian poet Kelvin Brown. Also, Pradip Ghosh will recite poems of Sree Archana Maa in Bengali and English; and Ritashree, Ritupriya and Priyanka Chakrabarty will give expression to ‘Archana Pranati’ through a group dance. On this occasion, a CD of two songs, sung by Sree Archana Maa and with music colouring by Kelvin Brown, will be released by Dr Rama Ranjan Mukh- erjee.
