Randhawa set for comeback

Calcutta: The first Royal Challenge Grand Prix tournament to be played at the Delhi Golf Club from October 7-11, 2002 will present the first chance for Indian fans to see former Asian PGA No 2 Jyoti Randhawa back in action.

Jyoti has made a strong return to the competitive circle with five top 15 finishes in the past six weeks on the Asian PGA tour and now returns to the Delhi GC where he secured his first international win at the Hero Honda Masters back in 1998.

Randhawa’s only other appearance in India since his motorcycle accident last February was in the Hero Honda Tour event in Srinagar in July. The accident kept Jyoti out of competitive action for four months. In the past five weeks, playing in tough conditions around Korea and Taiwan, Jyoti has been consistent, finishing the leading Indian player in four of the last five events.

He will face a strong challenge at the Royal Challenge Grand Prix where eight of the top ten Indians on the current merit list will be in action.
