The Saturday Club is organising a two-day art exhibition showcasing the works of several established and upcoming artists. The exhibition provides a platform for aspiring artists to share space with established names. The artists have been impressed by the vast diversity of this country and they all seem to portray in their works, the various nuances and nitty-gritties of this diversity, that is India. Their works draw on a rich resources of myths, tradition, images, personal experiences and impressions to make statements that express their unique vision of the universe. The participating artistsí works reflect their constant search for individual styles as they break existing forms and re-create to express themselves. The show is notable for its variety in terms of subject, medium and style. Participants include Avijit Dutta, Rohita Bhaskaran, Partha Bhattacharjee, Ananda Das, Sukanta Das, Samir Pal, Sanjeeb Saha, Devashis Das, Kanchanmala Ghosh, Gopa Ray and Vandana. A part of the proceeds will be donated to Anandlok, a residential welfare centre for the mentally disadvantaged.
