New Delhi, Sept. 19 (PTI): Nearly 2,000 college teachers will get a raise with the Union Cabinet giving its approval to the upgradation of payscales of professors and readers under the merit promotion scheme effective from January 1, 1996.
The ex-post-facto approval, aimed at removing anomalies in the payscales, will cost the exchequer Rs 7 crore annually.
