Gopalakrishnan, director, Tata Sons, will deliver a lecture on ‘How do things go wrong after having done everything right’ under the aegis of Technology Alumni Association, IIT, Kharagpur. September 14 at the Abhedananda Memorial Hall, Ramakrishna Vedanta Math, 19A & B Raja Rajkrishna Street; 7 pm: Swami Paramatmananda will speak on ‘Yuge Yuge Ynader Aagaman’. September 15 at G.D. Lal reads Saraswati Devi’s description of the nature of moksha and Markandeya’s narration of the Fish avatar myth, in the 146th weekly session of his complete English transcreation of Vyasa’s Mahabharata.


September 15 at Victoria Memorial; 7 am: The Calcutta Classic Run 2002 organised by Make A Wish Foundation and the Calcutta Hash. Registration on the spot. The 7-km route has been planned in such a way that the runners can get to see some of the glorious heritage buildings of Calcutta.
