Distribution of CU forms not in form
Calcutta University started distributing admission forms for MA, M.Sc and M.Com from July 25. But when I had inquired the day before at around 1.45 pm, the person at the counter said forms would be given from the following week. Later, I discovered that many students had similarly been misguided. On August 29, there was absolute chaos. Many students didnít know from where to get the forms and I was no exception. I queued up at 11 am and received my form at 2 pm, suffering the scorching sun followed by heavy rain. The entire process seemed very inhuman. Doesnít the university have the slightest concern for students' Besides, I was disgusted to find that one has to mention oneís caste in the form. Piyali Manna, Bhowanipore.
The weather bulletin released by the Met office mentions the average figures for temperature, rainfall and relative humidity. Why canít we have two sets of figures for the northern and southern extremes of the city' Somnath Ghosh, Maniktala.
