Dance and drama to debate, Sanskriti University Mathura hosted Spark 2022, the annual techno-cultural fest, from March 11 to 12.

A thousand students participated in more than 35 competitions in the fields of Engineering, Management, Mass Communication, Hotel Management, Fine Arts, Law, Science and Technology and Fashion Designing.

Bollywood singer Stebin Ben brought the curtains down on the two-day offline fest with numbers like Baarish ban jaana, Rula ke gaya ishq tera, Ek tu hi toh hai, Mera dil bhi kitna paagal hai, Mere mehboob qayamat hogi and Thoda thoda pyaar.

Sachin Gupta, chancellor; Rakesh Premi, pro-vice-chancellor; and Meenakshi Sharma, OSD to chancellor; were present at the inaugural ceremony. “The objective of education is not just to impart academic knowledge, but also to ensure the overall development of students. Spark provides an unparalleled forum for the students to test their intellectual and artistic prowess. They get to exhibit their skills and talents. What makes this fest special is that it is an event fully organised by the students,” said Gupta.

Here’s the list of winners from the intra-college competitions

Abhinay: First-year BBA students — Renu Chaturvedi, Harish Kumar, Aditya Gaur, Krishna Sharma, Hemant, Adarsh Kumar and Ankush Bharadwaj — won the drama competition. The theme was patriotism.

Ad-Mad: A team from BCom first year — Satyam Gupta, Pritika Singh, Mohan Shyam Gupta, Muskan and Sapna Yadav — won the spontaneous ad-making competition. They made a public service announcement on depression.

Food o art: The cooking competition saw the winning team of first-year Hotel Management students — Mohit Sharma, Karishma Gupta, Yash Gupta and Vishal Savita — make Mexican Canapes Kulad Pizza.

Futuristic Model: Saurav, Lakhmi Narayan and Jayant Singh, all second-year Mechanical Engineering students, won the competition.

Glass Painting: Anjali Sharma, a second-year Forensic student, won the Glass Painting competition.

Group Dance: Anshi Kumari, Tanisha Khanam, Goutam Kumar Jena, Porag Hazarika and Rupal Choudhary, all first-year Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences students, were the winners.

Collage Making: Muskan Yadav, a first-year BCom student, made the best collage.

Couple Dance: Radhika Upadhyay, a first-year BBA student, and Rahul Sharma, a second-year BCom student, won the hearts of the audience and judges with their duet composition.

Creative Writing: Priyanka Chaurasia, a first-year BCom student, won the competition with her creativity.

Debate: Khagendra Singh Sisodiya, a fourth-year BA-BEd student, won the war of words.

Duet Song: Mridujyoti Das and Bhim Bahadur Gurung, both third-year Physiotherapy students, won the Duet Song competition.

Entrepreneur in Me: Pindi Ganesh, a first-year Agriculture student, won the entrepreneurship competition.

Face Painting: Chanchal, a second-year diploma in Education student won this competition.

Mock Tail: Tribhuvan and Ankit Singh, both second-year Hotel Management students, prepared the tastiest mocktail.

Nail Painting: Monika Mansukhani, a second-year Medical Laboratory Technology student, won the Nail Painting competition.

Poster Making: Sujeet Kumar Sharma, a first-year Pharmacy student, made the most attractive painting.

Quiz: Hemant and Rahul, second-year Education students, bagged the first place.

Rang de Rangoli: Bhavika Bhardwaj, Kajal Agrawal, Renu Kushwah and Rachana Singh, all third-year BA-BEd students, won the rangoli-making competition.

Shutter Up: Sagar Singhal, a third-year Computer Science Engineering student, impressed the judges with his flair for photography.

Signature Look: Muskan, a first-year BA-BEd student, won the makeup competition.

Spontaneous: Satyam Gupta, a second-year BCom student, displayed his oration skills at the extempore competition.

Style War: Rahul Kumar, a third-year Agriculture student, and Gopal Sharma, a first-year diploma in Pharmacy student, walked the ramp and took home the winner’s trophy at the fashion show.

Mehndi Art: Neha Goyal, a first-year BSc-BEd student, won the mehndi-making competition.

Kabad se jugad: Second-year diploma in Mechanical Engineering students — Naman Sharma, Rohan Sharma, Shivam and Krishna Kumar — claimed the first prize.

T-Shirt Painting: Winner Amresh, a second-year Pharmaceuticals student, chose Holi as his theme.

Working Model: Second-year students Alka Sharma and Neha Kumari Sharma and Rahul Raj and first-year student Avinash Kumar from the Agriculture department introduced a prototype of a hydroponic model for crop irrigation winning the engineering competition.

I as a Director: The winning team made a short film on women's empowerment called Ek Sawal. The team included Shivam Chauhan, Vaibhav Varshney, Yash Kumar Dubey, Adarsh Sharma, Vivek Ratan, Tarun Sharma and Bharat Sharma, all second-year Computer Application students; and Sakshi Gupta, a first-year and Nidhi Tiwari, a second-year BCom student.
