“The Centre for Studies in Museology is the only interdisciplinary Centre in the Jammu and Kashmir to offer research on Museum Studies. This is the first time in 2021 that the centre, in collaboration with Kolkata Centre for Creativity, has decided to offer a three-month online certificate course. This is the second batch. The course has been designed for those in love with their culture, art and history. It is an intensive course in which all aspects of museology have been covered. Efforts have been made to take care of the requirements of working professionals, hence the classes are held only on weekends. By the end of the course, working museum professionals would have the latest information in the field, both national and international, which will prove helpful in their day-to-day curatorial work. Others would be sufficiently equipped to start their heritage galleries, small museums, work with local communities and be an entrepreneur,” said Poonam Chaudhary, director, Centre for Studies in Museology, University of Jammu.

Some of the career prospects include exhibition curator, archivist, outreach manager, focussing on audience engagement and satisfaction, museum coordinator.

Registration closes on November 10, 2021.
