The virtual session hosted by The Telegraph Edugraph seeks to answer all queries about a career in fashion

If you are looking to build a career in fashion, a virtual talk on ‘How to be a Fashion Designer’ is just what you need. The webinar hosted by The Telegraph Edugraph on May 14 will have Sumantra Bakshi, associate professor, National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Kolkata, discussing the initial academic steps that you need to take should you choose to enter the fashion industry. Log in from 11am to 12pm.

Bakshi will discuss the various job roles in the fashion industry after completing graduation and post-graduation. The interactive session will touch upon higher education options too. Bakshi will also talk about sustainable fashion, upcycling products, reusing materials and upskilling.

An alumnus of the University of Calcutta and Jadavpur University, Bakshi completed his PhD in Engineering and has been working in the textile industry with specific focus on higher education for over two decades. He takes interest in textile design, technology, sustainable processes and product development.
