Ecopolemics, the annual departmental fest by the Department of Economics, Manulana Azad College was hosted on May 17 and 18 that witnessed the horizons of sports merging with economics and sportsmanship and economics joining hands to unleash the champion within.

The theme for the fourth edition of Ecopelemics was 'Game On: Decoding the horizon of Economics and Sports' with six captivating events.

Ecopolemics witnessed a host of eminent judges and panelists from various backgrounds like Prof Srobonti Chattopadhyay, Assistant Professor at Rabindra Bharati University and a co-author of the book 'Introducing Auctions', Dr Suparna Gangopadhyay, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics and Head of the Department of Statistics at Surendranath College for Women, Nirvik Mukherjee, Head of the Department of Sports at NSHM Knowledge Campus, Shreya Basak, Asian Taekwondo Champion 2023 and Ratul Ganguly, a sports PR with various sports leagues.

The fest included several events like Wrangle-o-nomics where participants confidently argued topics provided to them.

It also hosted events like Ace the Case where the participants' analytical skills were be tested. Also, Bull vs Bear tested the prowess of students in the stock market.

Ecopolemics also hosted a creative writing competition named Pen it Down and also included a Football auction and the crafting of IPL cricket campaigns.

Ecopolemics'24 was a great success, receiving overwhelming responses from various prestigious colleges of Kolkata such as Asutosh college, Jadavpur University, St. Xavier's college, Scottish Church College, St. Paul's Cathedral Mission College, Basanti Devi College, Techno Main Salt Lake, Heramba Chandra College and several others, including University of Delhi, Christ University Bangalore and many more.
