Apple Music, which launched to the public on June 30, 2015, has turned 10. To mark the occasion, the company announced the opening of a new studio complex in Los Angeles and a series of special programmes. The new studio is a sign that the music streaming service is committed to artistes and wants to expand beyond only music streaming.

“Apple Music Radio has always been a home for storytelling and artistry, serving as a space for bold conversations and surprising moments,” said Rachel Newman, Apple Music’s co-head. “With this new studio, we are furthering our commitment to creating a space for artistes to create, connect, and share their vision.”

The new studio space covers over 15,000 sqft across three storeys. There are two advanced radio studios supporting Spatial Audio playback and adaptable setups for live interviews, chats or impromptu jams. A 4,000 sqft soundstage is there for live performances, multicam shoots, fan events, and screenings. There is also a dedicated Spatial Audio mixing room with a 9.2.4 PMC speaker system.

The 10th anniversary of Apple Music is coming close on the heels of Apple Podcasts being in existence for 20 years. Apple began supporting podcasts with iTunes 4.9 released in June 2005 and launched its first standalone mobile app in 2012.

Apple Music has launched ‘Replay All Time’, a special version of the annual Replay experience that allows listeners to see and stream the songs they’ve played the most since joining Apple Music. Mathures Paul

Apple Music Radio has been integral to the success of Apple Music because of the way it adds a human touch. It has been the place for global premieres and interviews, to in-depth specials and surprise performances.

Apple Music is also celebrating the occasion by giving users a throwback to their favourite hits over the last decade. “Replay All Time” is being launched for subscribers. It will give them an opportunity to listen to songs they have listened to the most since joining the platform.
