In recognition of her feat, Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh has offered the 26-year-old a job of additional superintendent of police and a cash award of Rs 1 crore.
Chanu lifted a total of 202kg (87kg+115kg) in the 49kg category on Saturday to win the medal.
