There’s a new spot in town for Kolkata’s night owlers. Two-storeyed nightclub The Flamboyant recently opened its gates on 32 Chowringhee Road and its all about glam and elegance with two levels covering 10,500 sq ft accented with plush interiors and Roman-inspired statues. Decked in a chic poppy yellow dress, actress Mouni Roy was present for the launch to get the party started. ‘The place is well structured and I look forward to getting to know the place better. I quite love it because the food and cocktails are great,’ she said

The first floor, which has a view of the ground floor bar and dance floor is well appointed with secluded tables and plus leather couches and velvet-upholstered chairs. The entire club has ambient lighting which can be admired from the balcony of this floor
A lit-up walkway is your entry route to the party pad when you arrive for any gig at The Flamboyant and makes a perfect background for those keepsake snaps for the ‘gram
Two interior features that caught our eye at The Flamboyant are the grand, almost glittering entrance, flanked by gleaming Roman style statues, and a beautiful ceiling light setting that looks like a flock of glowing birds
The club is serving up ‘international bar cuisine’ on their menu with Asian and Western delights. Dig into dishes like Creamy Goat Cheese Canape, Chicken Charcoal Dumpling, California Roll, Cigare Boregi a la Kolkata, Beetroot Shikampuri Kebab, and more
Cocktail lovers are sure to be spoilt for choice with tipples like Russian Fizzy Melon and Flame Boy, while teetotalers can sip on mocktails like Chatpata Mango, Gondhoraj Lemon Mojito and Thai Ginger Lemonade
Co-owners of the club, mother-son duo Keya and Sayak Biswas, joined in the celebrations. ‘Our vision is to introduce new things to Kolkata and develop the scene. When we go out now, it becomes monotonous — we drink and then eat dinner. What we have planned will be revealed as time goes. This is a challenge and we will put in our effort,’ they said
What made the launch party even more special was seeing DJ Girish behind the console churning out Bollywood and commercial mixes
