Keeping their annual tradition going, Kolkata’s iconic bakery Flurys on Park Street held its pre-Christmas cake-mixing ceremony on November 29

The Flurys team along with guests participated in the fun event that has been a precursor to Christmas at the patisserie and tea room
The soaked fruits will be used to make popular cakes, including the X-Mas plum cakes, which are available online and across all outlets of Flurys
Chef Vikas Kumar, director, food production, APEEJAY Surrendra Park Hotels Limited said, ‘We mixed around 350 kgs of fruit today, which is actually a very small part of what we will use for our cakes and is symbolic of the festivities’
There were seven kinds of dry fruits and nuts including cashews, almonds, and more that were soaked in rum and other liquors. Traditional Christmas spices such as cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg were also used
Guests participated in the fun mixing with all hygiene protocols in place. They also stole a few moments to capture memories through selfies
