Adayar upsets in Epsom Derby

Calcutta: Trainer Charlie Appleby's 16/1 rank outsider Adayar (Adam Kirby-up) had an easy measure of the R. Hannon's friendless runner, Mojo Star (David Egan) -- 51/1 shot -- in the 2,400m Cazoo Derby (Group 1) (British Champions Series) at the Epsom Downs race track on Saturday. Hurricane Lane, the second favourite, placed third while trainer Aidan O'Brien’s 6/4 public choice, Bolshoi Ballet (Ryan Moore), failed to touch the board in the line-up that was reduced to 11 runners after the morning withdrawal of Mohaafeth (Jim Cowley).
