St. Augustine's Day School Barrackpore organised Augusto Career Fair 2022

St. Augustine's Day School Barrackpore, on 18th November 2022 witnessed the Augusto Career Fair 2022. A trio performance of Bharatanatyam, Odissi and Kathak set the mood of the event.

The opening ceremony included an address by Principal ma'am, Mrs Jhuma Biswas. With her words of wisdom like ‘success for every child’ and ‘getting you future ready’, she declared the Augusto Career Fair 2022 'Open' which received thunderous applause from the visitors to the campus.

Senior school students got their aptitude checked via psychometric test and the result was analyzed by the School Counselor. This gave them much clarity and guidance for their path and time to rethink about decisions taken. Eminent universities like Lovely Professional University, Mahindra University, Sri Sri University, Techno India University etc had been given separate booths to have one-on-one interaction with the students.

For students planning to study abroad, Frame Learning, the institution that specializes in helping students to prepare for SAT, GRE, IELTS, TOEFL gave them clearance about exams necessary to get admission to foreign universities. After all this brainstorming, students' stomachs were filled with delicious foods at stalls on campus including tempting momos, sandwiches, phuchka, lunch menus etc. Our school students got a platform to share their talent and they were applauded by the audience.

The sessions with guest speakers from different fields were informative and enjoyable for both students and parents as they got an opportunity to interact with them and addressed their questions directly to the experts.

Students were enthralled by the insights shared for different professions like Sports and Physical Education, Fashion and Modelling, Medicine, Genomics, IT, RJ, Film and Theatre to name a few. Students eagerly waited for the session with Mr Chandan Sen, the famous Bengali Actor. Raisi Das, a Class X student, expressed, "Augusto Career Fair 2022 aimed at providing help not only to us, the Augustinians but also our friends from other schools, in helping us decide what our future plans can possibly be. Many eminent personalities like Pushpak Sen, Dr. Souvik Mukherjee, Meenakshi Khorana Saha, Dr. Sanyukta De, Eshan Chattaraj, Manali Ganguly, Dr. Subrata Mukherjee, Dr. Malay Kumar Mukhopadhyay were invited for the sessions.

All of them were highly inspirational. We got to know that apart from science, humanities and commerce we all have other fields like music, drama, modelling even fashion designing in which we can equally shine."

Students took the 'Psychometric Test' and were given 'Career Guidance' booklets, specially designed to help them know various careers stream-wise. "The career fair was a great initiative which provided us with an opportunity to explore a wide range of career options available in different fields. The sessions conducted by eminent guest speakers along with the presence of reputed institutions made the event truly enlightening," said Anamika Bhattacharyya, Class XI student and ICSE Topper 2022.

The event ended with the much-awaited musical performance by the famous Singer, Mr Ishan Mitra, who was also one of the iconic speakers at the grand event.

Augusto Career Fair 2022 was a grand success with eminent Guest speakers, more than a dozen University stalls, interesting Food Stalls, Students performances, and Celebrity Guests' interactive sessions with students and parents...all under one roof at St. Augustine's Day School, Barrackpore! Guests, parents, students of guest schools and all the visitors made 18th November 2022 a memorable day for us!
