'Otolanto', inspired by the Irish play - Riders to the Sea, wherein a livelihood based out of the sea, a widowed mother loses all her sons to it. In our play, we have chosen to speak about the lives of the people of Sunderbans, the land of eighteen tides. The 2 hours long, folk musical drama has a resemblance to the culture of the place. Their livelihood and the challenges against all odds. How the cyclones are affecting them, and how they are fighting it along with the frequent tiger attacks. The drama talks about those people, who have nothing in their lives but the willpower to go through enormous pain every day.

It sends out a message to the audience, about the actual scenario, the importance of ecological balance in the habitat, and how adopting a livelihood independent of the consumption of natural resources, in abundance, can help them out. The story represents a habitat, which gleams in the lap of nature, guarded by The deities of the place 'Bonobibi' and 'Shahjongoli' in the play.
